Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped crystallized ginger

Instructions

Follow these steps to make this delicious ginger cake:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the molasses.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in three batches, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Beat until just combined.
